Say what? Mondays are supposed to be a sleep-deprived much dreaded, manic whirlwind that you could really do just fine without thank you, right? Well, I'm here to lift this silly stigma & start the week with a NEW attitude. It's time to get raw & real people. A Green Lady is here to bring a no-nonsense, fun twist to this day & transform it into something quite powerful. I feel that the best way to do this is to give you an idea of how I perceive Monday & how I use it for all it's got! To me, it's just a fantastic excuse to start-again, set new goals for myself & determine exactly how I'd like to make a difference this week.
Let's start with my little mornin' check-list to make sure that the wake-up wellness basics are tackled head-on:
1. Gratitude: OK, this is an essential list-topper othat I'd like to cover first. I strongly feel that choosing the "attitude of gratitude" upon waking can really set the stage for the day & our entire lives. I simply like to say the words "thank you" to myself right upon waking & take a few moments to just BE in the beautiful bliss of what I am thankful for each day. I just lay back & really relish in what ever it is I am truly grateful for. Funny how the small stuff we typically stress over instantly becomes even smaller.
2. Sleep: How did we do? I know, a tender area that we'd all like to improve upon. Let's not judge, as this is only a casual check-in. You probably know all too well how vital these precious hours of bodily repair & rejuvenation are, so I won't go in to the numerous physiological/mental benefits that quality, sufficient REM sleep provides here. Let's just quickly assess, figure out what we can do moving forward to improve upon our own sleep quality/quantity and then move along. I find that the usual culprits are racing thoughts & inability to quiet the mind. What works well for me is manually shifting internal gears as soon as I start getting ready for bed. Then, as soon as my head hits the pillow, I immediately take myself to a mystical fantasy wonderland of how I want my life to become, or dream it to be. There are no boundaries or limitations here....just set sail on your little cloud & take yourself on a peaceful voyage into all that is possible. ZZZZZZIP!!! Back to maaavalous Monday reality, but you may want to try this method, or something similar this eve.
3. Hydration: This one is very straight-forward & easy to do. I would strongly recommend working towards drinking 1 Liter of pure, filtered water upon waking every day. Since I typically work towards maximum efficiency, I like to combine this step with my moment of gratitude above. TIP: At night, before bed, bring a big bottle with you so that it's ready to go in the AM (& through the night if needed). Just drink, give thanks, drink & repeat! Every cell in your beautiful body is most dehydrated & in need of H2O first thing in the morning. Your skin, digestion & metabolism will all thank you....cheers!
4. Nourishment: After your thirst-quenched cells are satisfied, your ready for the big time game-changer --> FUEL! I would recommend picking your fave, seasonal fresh fruit to start the day with. No need to concern yourself with how much, just shoot for something organic, local & juicy for additional hydrating value & just eat as much as you care for. PAUSE: Let me give you a quickie scoop on my nutrition philosophy: Again, it all comes down to efficiency in my book. I LOVE (& stick with) fresh, raw, life-giving plant-based food because it provides the most delicious, nutrient-rich, energizing, disease-preventing food source available to us, period. OK, that may seem restrictive to some, but I find (and hope to successfully reveal) the amazing benefits of transitioning to a high-grade, oxygen-filled, enzyme packed fuel that the human body was truly designed for. It actually feels like a great big invigorating injection of pure vitality! Now, this could be immediate for some & felt over time for others - it really depends on what state of health your body is currently in. Some may choose to ease into this while others jump right in full force. Regardless of where you are, I hope to, over-time, empower you with enough knowledge, practical tips & inspiration so that there's no convincing necessary - you'll simply experience it for yourself!

3/11/11 A New Day, A New Beginning...
What better day than today to begin. I'm bursting with so much excitement to finally begin sharing all of the insight, knowledge & inspiration you'll need to achieve ultimate wellness. But first, let's clarify what the heck it is (or at least how I interpret it)! I'm certain it means something quite different to each & every one of us. To me, ultimate wellness is defined by multiple factors that, collectively, result in a green, healthy & lean life, free of disease and filled with passion, enthusiasm, energy & vitality.
Sound good? Are we all on the same page? Ok then, let's get on with it already!!!
Rather than take the chance of overwhelming you with a truck-load of tips, do's & don'ts, insanely long lists & possibly become mistaken for a semi-obnoxious "know-it-all" who demands you to live a perfect life yesterday, I'd prefer to take smaller steps so as not to intimidate, or turn you off before we even get to the goods. The goal here is to make a long-lasting imprint on your life, your core, your very existence, if you will. I'd like for you to start seeing the world, yourself, food & your body in a slightly different way than you're probably used to. I'm ready if you are and 100% committed to guiding & inspiring you on this fun-filled journey toward ultimate wellness!
